Because the stomach is such a big, stretchy organ, the early stages of stomach cancer usually have no symptoms, but as the cancer grows and spreads, symptoms can develop. Dr. Malone, can you tell us about these symptoms?
Of course, Dr. Mansfield. As stomach cancer grows, symptoms can include:
- Pain or discomfort in the abdomen
- Nausea and vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Fatigue or weakness
- Bleeding, vomiting blood, or bloody stools, which can be red, maroon, or black, sticky, and tarry
- Weight loss, and
- Being unable to eat a complete meal because of feeling "full"
